Rayburns are all about choice and flexibility.
Some models are designed to burn continuously and are adjustable between idling and higher burning rates, whilst others are intended to be used as on/off cookers, fully programmable for intermittent use.
Therefore it is difficult to generalise on or predict fuel consumption, taking into account the variable factors such as amount of usage and size of heating system etc, which will vary considerably from household to household.
The following figures are chosen as typical examples of average fuel consumption and may be of assistance.
Figures quoted are approximate over a 24 hour period.
Example 1: From our Heatranger (Hot Water model) Rayburns.
Rayburn burning continuously. 22 hours slumbering + 2 hours at full burning rate.
Supplying cooking + 455 litres (100gallons) of domestic hot water + background warmth to the kitchen.
Model 212S
10kg / 22 lb Sunbrite smokeless solid fuel
Example 2: From our HEATRANGER (central heating models) and TRADITIONAL cooker ranges.
Rayburn alight continuously, in typical winter conditions.
Supplying cooking at high fire for 2 hours + Full central heating for 6 hours + 455 litres of domestic hot water + background warmth to kitchen.
Model 355M
30kg / 66 lb Sunbrite smokeless solid fuel
Models 480AG(CF)
206 kW Natural gas
Model 480AL(CF)
26 litres / 13 kg Propane gas
Example 3: Also from the HEATRANGER (central heating models) cooker range.
Rayburn used intermittently, in typical winter conditions.
Supplying cooking at high fire for two hours + full central heating for 6 hours + domestic hot water.
Models 480AG (CF)
192 kW Natural gas
Model 480AL(CF)
24 litres / 12 kg Propane gas
