ALL NIGHT PORRIDGE (Serves 3-4)
It is time for that warming overnight porridge - What could be easier than placing it in the simmering oven as you go to bed and taking it out in the morning a hot, steaming, nourishing start to the day!
In an AGA saucepan with a well fitting lid (I have stainless steel ones) place:
1 cup Steel cut oats (these are the best as they have the bran still on)
1 tsp Salt - optional
3 cups Cold water
Stir and put in the Simmering Oven as you go to bed
4 oven- on the floor of the oven.
2 & 3 oven – you may need to put in on the grid shelf on the floor of the oven if it cooks too quickly.
Take it out of the oven in the morning, stir and add honey, syrup or sugar and/or cream and enjoy! If it seems too thick add more water at night - it’s just a case of knowing your oats and your AGA!
